What happens during a first visit at the dentist?
Your first visit is designed to give us a complete picture of your oral health and provide our team an opportunity to get to know you. We’ll review your medical and dental history, take any necessary X-rays, and perform a thorough exam of your teeth, gums, and bite. You’ll also receive a professional cleaning to polish your teeth and remove built-up plaque and tartar. We always set aside extra time during first visits to talk through your concerns, answer questions, and outline personalized recommendations for your care.

How should I prepare for my first visit at River Stone Dental Center?
Before your appointment, please bring a list of medications, any relevant medical history, and your dental insurance information if you have it. Arriving a few minutes early allows time to complete new patient paperwork and settle in. If you have specific concerns, questions, or goals for your smile, it can be helpful to jot them down so we can be sure to address them during your visit. Should you need anything from us prior to your visit, feel free to reach out.

What if it’s been a long time since I’ve been to the dentist?
There’s no need to feel embarrassed if it’s been a while. Many of our patients return after time away, and we’re here to help you move forward comfortably and without judgment. If dental anxiety has prevented you from scheduling with us, please let us know so we can accommodate you; we offer several sedation options that can help make your experiences more relaxed as well. We’ll focus on your current oral health, explain everything clearly, and create a treatment plan that feels manageable and supportive for your needs.
